The
sixth stage offers the perfect opportunity to widen your acquaintance
of the Folgaria highland and its many cultural and naturalistic
phenomena.
Follow the state road no. 350 for a short distance to Costa
(1200 m) and the nearby MASO SPILZI (1274 m), that houses
interesting photographic exhibitions "Gli altipiani in
guerra", "i Biotopi in Trentino" and "Tracce
sulla neve". We also recommend a visit to the "TORBIERA
ECHEN" (1200 m) biotope, a humid area with particular
geomorphological characteristics and rare flora associations.
In the vicinity is the "SANTUARIO MADONNA DELLE GRAZIE",
patron of the Italian skiers. You gain altitude to reach the
Malga Ortesino (1400 m), moving towards the wooded Monte Durer
(1588 m). The remains of the "OSPEDALE MILITARE AUSTROUNGARICO"
(Austro-Hungarian military hospital) and the "SCALA
DELL'IMPERATORE" are nearby. The crest of the Pioverna
(1778 m) and the Costa Agra (1820 m) hills offer amazing panoramic
moments. You then descend to the Molon col from where you
can ascend to the remains of the ex "FORTE CAMPOMOLON"
on the homonymous summit. From the Valbona mountain pass (1782
m) below, proceed towards the Rifugio Rumor (1658 m) and,
bearing to the right, descend to the Valle di Campoluzzo at
Malga Campo Azzaron. You return to the Trentino region at
Malga Zonta (1543 m); the "SACRARIO MILITARE"
(military memorial) is at a short distance from Passo Coe
(1600 m), where, near the ex Malga Melegnetta, there is an
interesting "GIARDINO BOTANICO" (botanical
garden). After the pass, take the military road on the right
that leads to "FORTE SOMMO ALTO" (1613 m).
The provincial road no. 143 descends towards the tourist resort
of Fondo Piccolo (1474 m) and Fondo Grande (1400 m). Shortly
before reaching here, at an altitude of 1335 m, the tarmacked
road circumvents the Dosso della Martinella and reaches Serrada
(1250 m). The nearby hamlet of Guardia is worth a visit for
its charming frescoed houses and also the "HOFENTOL"
waterfall. |
